WILMA NELL (BROCK) HAYNES

Wilma N. Haynes, 88, of Vancouver, WA, passed away on January 12, 2018.
Wilma's memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on February 24, 2018 at Vineyard Church in Vancouver. The address is: 1207 E. Reserve Street, Vancouver, WA 98661.
Wilma was born in the small town of Mt. Harris, Colorado on December 26, 1929 to Forrest M. Brock and Aretta Mack Brock. She was raised in the coal mining town of Oak Creek, Colorado. She later moved to Portland, Oregon in 1953 and then to Vancouver, WA in 1963.
Wilma was preceded in death by Reginald Haynes. They were married for 27 years, until his death in 1976.
Wilma worked for The Vancouver School District for 33 years. Wilma started as an Instructional Assistant at John Rogers Elementary working with special needs children. After 10 years, she moved to the Central Office and worked in various departments until her retirement in 1999.
Wilma enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, cooking, camping and raising her two granddaughters.
Wilma is survived by her daughter, Trina (Michael) Kirkwood of Lacey; son, Mark Haynes of Vancouver granddaughters, Corina Haynes of Bremerton and Katarina Stout of Lacey. Wilma is also survived by a sister, brother, aunt, nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as several good friends.
The family would like to thank Davies Cremation and Burial Services, Park Hill Cemetery and Vineyard Church for their expertise with the arrangements.

Ah sweet Wilma Haynes...I remember working with you in many capacities at the Vancouver School District. I remember most your kind heart and cheerful personality. Thank you for all that you gave to others. Sincerely, Jeannie Brust

I was so sorry to see Wilma's passing in the paper. The Hall and Haynes families go back a long way. Through the years, I would see her every now and then and we would chat about our kids. She was a dear friend and will be missed.
