William Thompson Obituary

WILLIAM “DEAN” THOMPSON
March 15, 1960 ˜ May 2, 2021

William “Dean” Thompson passed away on the morning of May 2, 2021, at his home in Vancouver, WA. He was 61. Dean was born March 15, 1960, in Huntington Beach, CA, to Bill and Lois. He was the oldest of three children.
After graduating from Columbia River High school in 1979 he enlisted in the United States Air Force. After his time in the service, he returned home to the Pacific Northwest and completed a bachelor’s degree from the University of Portland.
Dean enjoyed all things outdoors. In his early adult years, he spent a lot of time skiing on the mountain and on his ski boat. Later, he would enjoy many hunting seasons, especially with his father. Most recently, his favorite activity was just enjoying life with his wife, Lynn and his grandchildren Rilyn, Gwenyth, Brynn, Nora, Liam and Emery.
Dean was preceded in death by his mother and father. He will be missed dearly by his wife, Lynn; his son, Casey and wife Courtney with their two children; his son, Jacob; stepdaughter, Jaymie; stepdaughter, Janelle and her two children; stepson, John and his wife Amanda and their daughter; stepdaughter, Natalie and her daughter; his sister, Karen; his brother, Alan; and his stepmother, Dona.
If you wish to attend the memorial, join the family for an outdoor service at Northwood Park Funeral Home and Cemetery May 21 at 10:00 a.m.

Not sure what to say?

We had many good times, my friend! I cherish the memories of cruising on the Columbia, skiing Mt.Hood, endless hours of HackySack, sampling the cold beers and many other adventures. You were always my CoPilot when I needed a photo/film artist. You were the best'est! I'll meet you at the RainbowBridge. God'sPeace.... Danny Cochran

I remember Dean as this wonderful out going guy! It was a pleasure to be a classmate and friend of his. As life passes by, it is sad we do not stay in touch with those we once knew well.
RIP Dean and my condolences to his family.

It is difficult to see this in print as it makes it so real. Thank you to his family for creating this synopsis of a life well lived that I was privileged to be part of this last 10 years. My life will never be the same and I will miss and love you forever. Lynn
