Wayne Henry Whiteley, was a Clark County resident for 42 years, passed away on Jan. 26, 2011. He was born Jan. 26, 1937 in Sewel, IA and graduated from Seymour High School 1955.
Wayne attended The University of Iowa and later joined the Air force in 1958.
On Dec. 24th, 1961 he married Peggy Jean Hall in Omaha, NE.
He retired from Freightliner T.M.P. in 1995 after 28 years of service as a material handler foreman.
Wayne also served 25 years with the Air Force and National Guard Army. He retired as a Master Sergeant USAR in 1994.
He was a member of Al Kader Shrine and was a 32 degree Mason, Scottish Rite Bodies in Vancouver, WA.
Wayne loved to travel and spend time with his family.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Peggy Whiteley; three children, Jerry Whiteley, Debbie Whiteley and Dail Whiteley; three grandchildren, Alex Whiteley, Bianca Whiteley and Ronald Ervine; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father, C. W. Whiteley; mother, Fern Hammond Whiteley; and his brother, William Roy Whiteley.
There will be a private Celebration of Life and he will be laid to rest in Seymour, IA.
