Walter P. Volker of Vancouver, WA, passed away on Jan. 21, 2011.
He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in WW II.
Walter loved his grandchildren, gardening, woodworking, reading and had a passion for railroading and steam engines.
Walter is survived by his daughter, Arlene (Dale) Wood of Surfers Paradise, Australia; son, Phil (Deb) Volker and their children, Dan, Ben and Cam Volker of Portland, OR; daughter-in-law, Karen Volker; grandson, Michael (Jessie) Volker and their child, Emmett; and granddaughter, Ericka Volker of Portland, OR; brother, Jim Volker of Missoula, MT; sisters, Geraldine Mills of Portland, OR and Dorothy Steinbarge of Vancouver, WA; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Iva Volker; son, Scott Volker; brother, George Volker; and sister, Betty Hering.
A funeral service will be held on Sat., Jan. 29, 2011 at 12:30 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
