TIMOTHY GRANT ZAHLER
December 27, 1948 ~ May 1, 2017

Timothy Grant Zahler, 68, passed away suddenly with his family and friends by his side. He was born to Harold and Della Zahler in Vancouver, WA. He graduated from Columbia River and Central Washington State College.
Tim taught Drivers Education and coached cross country at Columbia River High School. Throughout those years he coached two state track champions and record holders in the 3200 meters and 800 meters. Not to mention, countless district champions and state qualifiers.
His passion was running and fishing, fishing and fishing! Tim's last job was at Englund Marine in Astoria, where of course, he got to talk about fishing.
Tim is survived by his twin sisters Trudi Bankson (husband Ford), Randi Secker (husband Gib); niece Amy Lobey (husband Ron), nephew Bobby Secker; four grand nieces and nephews: Sammy, Andrew, Dylan, Bailey and numerous special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Kalama Sportsman Club sometime in July or August.
Tim was our brother, uncle, nephew and friend
and will be truly missed by all who knew him.

I guess about fifty five years have gone by knowing Tim. Growing up at the Kalama River cabins, teaching at Columbia River H.S. and sharing the same classroom, to spending time at his beach house, along with many fishing trips. Tim spent countless hours fishing with many close friends sharing stories and tales.Tim had a very eventful life and will be missed by many friends ,family and former students.

Fish on, Tim.
