December 22, 1945 ~ April 24, 2015

Thomas M. Hillis was born on December 22, 1945 to John and Grace Hillis. He passed away on April 24, 2015, at the age of 69.
Tom lived most of his life in Woodland, Washington, where he was known for his smile and lighthearted humor. He served in the U.S. Army Special Forces Green Beret unit as a combat engineer in Panama.
Tom is survived by his children: Bradley, Pamela, and Patricia.
He was a member of the S.W. Mineralogical Society and often said "Give me a slab and I can spend hours looking at the variations". When asked what he was going to do them, he would just smile. That smile we all loved.
Service and reception will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, May 2 at 12:30 p.m. Family and friends are welcome to come celebrate his life and humor.
Memorial contributions may be mailed to the Southern Washington Mineralogical Society, P.O. Box 704, Longview, WA 98632.
