Not sure what to say?

I had the pleasure of working with Tom and Sandy at the Antique Mall in Camas, and his smile and laughter always filled the store. I once told Sandy that I thought he looked like Clark Gable and that he was handsome;
of course she agreed! I am thankful that I had him for a friend.

I was so shocked to learn of Tom's passing today from another antique friend (Vonnie) while out shopping. He always had a smile, and that great laugh will be missed. Tom had a very unique talented way of displaying his wears, which always amazed me. Heart & prayers go out to Sandy and his extended family. A southern gentleman indeed.

Dear Garrett family, I am sorry to hear Tom has passed away. The strapping world was always fun to have Tom stirring things up for years.. with his smile, competition, and pricing... well, our world was always revolving. I worked for A J Gerrard for ten years and Carlson Systems for almost another ten years... and Tom was always around... The Lumber Clinic show every year, the constant competing to keep the good customers. Tom was always a gentleman and always smiling. Sorry to lose your dad, Tom. He was a good person. My thoughts and heart go out to you all. Take good care,

Always with the smile, the compliment, the story and the laughter... the pat on the back, the warmth, the generosity. Always making you feel special... like the world is a better place, not because he was in it, but just because. The fact is, however, that the world was a better place between 5/11/39 and 3/22/11. That's the problem with awesome people: you can really feel it when they leave.

I'm so sorry for your loss - I knew Tom from frequent visits at Goodwill before I moved. He spoke of his wife & family often in our chats. He sure loved you all. He was a kind soul and everyone was his friend. I was privileged to know him.
