Susan “Sue” Marie Boehm, age 62, of Vancouver, WA, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Nov. 20th, 2018, after a long and arduous battle with Fibromyalgia and COPD. She was born on Dec. 1st, 1955 in Watertown, SD to Robert and Florence Schmeling, their fourth child, who was known as the rebellious one, but with a heart of gold.
Sue married her soul mate, Ricky Dean Boehm, in September 1977, and they recently celebrated their 41st anniversary together.
Sue knew from early on that she wanted to be a loving mother and was blessed with her first child Angela in 1979. After years of pregnancy complications, she handpicked her second child Jesse, from South Korea, in 1988. She was a loving and nurturing mother, as well as a spiritual guide, best friend and confidant. Sue was a dedicated fan to her children’s sporting events and could always be found cheering on the sidelines at all of the games. In 2005, her dream came true to become a grandmother with the birth of Angela’s daughter Kirslyn.
Sue had a deep love for all things artistic, especially when it came to music. Anytime you visited her house, you could always count on hearing great music playing in the background. Sue also had a love for all animals, and if her home didn’t have at least one pet, it wasn’t acceptable. She was especially akin to elephants which was evidenced by the many decorations around her house.
She was a great mother, wife, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and will be forever young in our hearts.
Sue is survived by her husband, Rick; daughter, Angela; son, Jesse (Amanda); granddaughter, Kirslyn; brother, Robert; sisters, Debi, Lynda, Patti and Bobi Jo; many loving nieces and nephews; and her dog, Kona.
Sue would not want you to be sad about her passing, but rather remember the good times you had with her. Sue’s life of Love and Joy will be celebrated on March 30th, 2019 at 6:30PM at the Brickstone Ballroom, 105 West Evergreen, Vancouver WA.
In lieu of flowers, just bring your best memories of Sue and be ready to have a good time remembering her! Please sign her guest book @
