SHARE JEONG YOUNG
7/26/1924~2/6/2011

Bill Young - loving husband, father, and grandfather - passed away peacefully on February 6, 2011 at the age of 86. He was a wonderful cook, enjoyed fishing and being at home with his family. Born in the Ching Wo Village, Sun Woey District of China, he was the only child of father Lin Chan and mother Nuey Kwan. In 1952 he came to the United States and began a life-long career as a chef, owning restaurants in Eureka and Fortuna, California with his wife of 42 years, Beth. Together they moved to Vancouver, Washington in 1978, where he enjoyed the outdoors and working at the Red Lion in Jantzen Beach until his retirement last year. He is survived by his wife Beth; his six children, Lai, Kwok, Shannon, Raelyn, Charlie, and Wayne; and five grandchildren, Bing, May, Sze, Alex and Inara. We will miss him dearly.

He was always the nicest guy on the street growing up. Such a good worker too. And always looked so happy. Hope to see him again one day in a better world.

I wish to extend my sincere sympathy to the family in their loss. I had the privelege to work with Bill in Vancouver at the Cascade Lantern. He was well respected and I personally loved working with him. Keep your happy memories always and know he will be remembered as the kind and decent man he was.
