Obituary

RUTH ANN (EHLE) BEATTY
1961 ~ 2017

Ruth, Ruthie, Ru, Momma Ru ~ She went by several different names, the direct result of being loved by so many different people. She added another name on Sunday: Guardian Angel. Ruth left this earth at the age of 55 due to complications following a heart attack.
Born March 14, 1961 to Herb and Rita Ehle, she grew up in greater Vancouver, WA area with three siblings: her brother, Roger and sisters, Joan and Carol.
Ruth met her husband Chris while they both attended Hudson's Bay High School in Vancouver, WA. They reconnected after college and married June 20, 1986 and were married for 30 years.
A career as a nurse awaited Ruth upon graduation from Clark College. She was hired at Kaiser Permanente, where she remained for the last 32 years. Nursing wasn't a job for Ruth, it was a calling. Along with her blaring smile and booming laugh, she will be remembered for the love and compassion she showed others ~ to none more so than Chris; their beloved black lab, Molly; and their two sons, Sam (28) and Max (25). Both are proud and confident young men who were bona fide momma's boys. Sam and Max routinely brought hordes of friends to their home overlooking the Columbia River, and all were welcomed with hugs, dorky jokes, and enough snacks to feed a few little league teams.
Of all her names, Ruth was on the verge of earning what was sure to be her favorite: Grandma Ru. Sam and his wife Hilary are expecting their first child in August. Ruth won't be here to spoil her grandchild, but she will certainly be watching, and projecting that smile that so many had grown accustomed to.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Chris; siblings, Roger, Joan and Carol; and sons, Sam (Hilary) and Max.
One who preferred sunshine over rain and laughter over long faces will have a Celebration of Life. This will be held Saturday, February 25th from 1-4p.m. at the Heathman Lodge in Vancouver, WA.
Brown's Funeral Home in Camas, WA is in charge of arrangements.
