Rudy graduated from Mapua Institute of Technology with a Bachelor’s Science degree in chemical engineering. He completed additional education at the University of Washington. After a 22-year career as a certified professional engineer in quality engineering for Shell Oil, he retired early at the age of 55 in 1991. During his retirement, he was able to spend time with his wife, children and grandchildren, traveling, golfing and bowling.
