Rosalie Martell of Vancouver, WA, passed away on Jan. 22, 2011. She was born in Switzerland. Rosalie immigrated to Vancouver with her mother, Clara Spohel when she was a child.
She married Anthony Martell and had nine children together.
In her younger days, she enjoyed farming, gardening, cooking and canning. She was a lover of animals and had many dogs, cats and birds throughout her lifetime.
Rosalie and her husband were active members of the Eagle Lodge and Moose Lodge. She belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Rosalie is survived by her brother, Tony (Hilda) Sohn; daughters, Anthonette Miller, Marie (Dick) Fronk, Gloria Cameron and Julie Martell; sons, Victor (Delores) Martell and Erwin Martell.
She was preceded in death by husband, Anthony Martell of forty-nine years; and second husband of sixteen years, Jack Hollenbeck; daughters, Jennie Herrod and Louise Hollenbeck; son, Nick Martell; and granddaughter, Cindy Martella.
A graveside service will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens on Jan. 31, 2011 at 12:30 p.m., following the hospitality room.
The family would like to thank Hospice and her caregivers.
