Ronald S. Miyabara, 82, of Vancouver, WA, passed away on April 10, 2017. He was born on April 5, 1935 in Hanapepe on the island of Kauai and grew up on the island of Oahu.

After graduating from high school in Saginaw, Michigan, he enlisted in the United States Navy. He proudly served his country for 21 years in the submarine forces during both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired from the Navy as a Senior Chief Commissaryman in 1975. He then worked for the City of Portland, Wastewater Treatment Plant for 20 years until he retired in 1995.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and collecting firearms. He also liked to read, cook, and solve crossword puzzles.

Ronald is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mutsuko; and his daughter, Regina Anderson and son-in-law, Robert; daughter, Susan Tanaka; his grandson, Roger Hansen; granddaughter, Kelcey DeWeber and her husband Shea; and grandson, Zachary Anderson. He is also survived by his three sisters, Jeanette Lum, Christine Thomas, and Lynne Johnson.

Services will be held on Tuesday, April 18th at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 6600 Highland Drive, Vancouver, WA 98661. Rosary will begin at 10:00 a.m., Mass at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. at Mother Joseph Catholic Cemetery, 1402 E 29th St., Vancouver, WA 98663.
