Roland Henry Crane "Pete" passed away peacefully at home in Washougal, WA on Aug. 6, 2015. He was born January 30, 1921 in Bismark, ND to Mary (Wilder) and Roland H. Crane Sr.
Pete was a WWII Army veteran and retired from Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railroad as a Signal Supervisor.
After retirement, he was a non-stop golfer at Club Green Meadows. He enjoyed attending the Masters Tournament three times with his step-son, Jim in Agusta, GA. He took a golf-playing tour to St. Andrews and other courses in Scotland with friends from Green Meadows.
Pete was a member of VFW Post 7824 of Vancouver and enjoyed having lunch with his friends there every Tuesday. He returned to Clark College in his 80's and studied computers in order to further research and document his ancestry from England and Ireland. He also enjoyed playing fantasy football with his friend, Kevin and the old gang at Charlie's.
Pete is survived by his daughter, Colleen Cancilla (Craig) of Washougal; his step-son, James Johnson (Marion) of Florida; four beautiful granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cora Jane in 2007; his step-daughter, Judy in 2004; and son-on-law, Richard Begley in 2000.
There will be no service or memorial at Pete's request. He was interned with his wife on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Hoquiam, WA.
