ROBERT GEORGE REIERSGAARD
March 22, 1930 ~ April 23, 2011

Robert Reiersgaard, 81, of Vancouver, died Saturday, April 23, 2011 at the Hickey Hospice House due to complications from Lymphoma. He was born the only child of Norma and George Reiersgaard in Rhame, North Dakota.
Robert's family moved from Rhame to Great Falls, Montana in 1942. He graduated from Great Falls High School in 1948. While in high school, he was selected to attend the first Boys' State in Montana for good citizenship.
He excelled in math and went to work as a teller at the First National Bank in Great Falls. He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict in 1951-1952. He attended Great Falls Commercial College and worked as an office manager for Montana Hardware.
He married Mary Katherine Kraft, July 18, 1959. In 1970 he founded R. G. R. Enterprises, a jewelry distributor, allowing him to combine his enjoyment of sales, travel and love of people in his vocation. Robert and Mary transferred their business and moved to Vancouver in 1990.
Robert was confirmed at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Great Falls, and belonged to Faith Lutheran Church in Great Falls for 30 years. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Vancouver.
He was a life-long fan of the New York Yankees and the Green Bay Packers. He volunteered at the Southwest Washington Convention and Visitor's Bureau. No one was a stranger to Bob and he enjoyed nothing more than sharing his sense of humor with others.
Robert is survived by his children, Shan Rene Reiersgaard, Burnsville, Minnesota, Neil Douglas Reiersgaard (Lisa), Littleton, Colorado, Kent Steven Reiersgaard (Caanan), Seattle, WA; and grandchildren, Tara, Adam and Ryan. A 50th Anniversary Reunion was held at the Izaak Walton Inn in Glacier Park, Montana with all family members present.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Joe in August, 2010.
A Memorial service will be held Friday, April 29, 2:00 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Internment will be at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial in Great Falls at a future time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Free Diabetes Clinic or charity of your choice.
