Rich was born to Jean and Earl Brown in Breckenridge, MN. He met his future wife, Christy, the summer of 1963 where both graduated from Prosser (Washington) High School in 1964. He attended Central Washington University graduating with a BS degree in mathematics and a chemistry minor. After graduation, he, Christy and 2 of their 3 sons moved to Portland to begin his first job with Chipman Chemical. In 1977, along with their 3rd son, moved to Vancouver, WA. Rich was active in the community and coached baseball with Alcoa Little League and soccer with North Central. In 1990 they purchased a small deli at Town Plaza (Tower Mall) and named it Brown's Bistro. It became a very popular weekend Karaoke hangout for many of the local high school students. Rich loved playing bridge, gardening, reading and traveling. He and Christy cruised the Caribbean, visited Tahiti, Greece, Turkey, Mexico and went on an African safari in Zimbabwe. Rich is survived by his wife, Christy; sons, Kenneth, Garrett and Brian; five grandchildren-Sierra, Benjamin, Cameron, Alyson and Brandon; his mother, Jean; sister, Sherry; and brothers, Mike and Jeff.
