Richard Norman Grafton died Monday, February 14, 2011 at Southwest Medical Center, Vancouver, Washington. He was born to Dorothy Belle Parker Grafton and Rodney Vernon Grafton in Portland, Oregon on December 29, 1924.
Mr. Grafton was a WW II Army veteran and was very proud to have served his country during the war in the Philippines.
Richard is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sandra Grafton; daughter, Janet Grafton Check of Astoria, Oregon; two sons, Steven (Cheryl) Grafton of Washington state and James (Roxanne) Howe of Kent, Washington; sister-in-law, Rosella Grafton of Astoria, OR; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Howard Grafton of Astoria, Oregon.
A memorial will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church, 905 NW 94th St., Vancouver, WA on Friday, February 18, 2011 at 12:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Southwest Washington Medical Center Foundation, Diabetes Fund or to Messiah Lutheran Church.
