Raymond Harold Prouty, 70, of Vancouver, WA, passed away on March 19, 2011. He was born in Estilline, SD to Fred and Eleanor Prouty. Raymond graduated from Hudson's Bay High School in the class of 1959.
He served in the U.S. Army and was a Merchant Marine from 1959-1962 during the Vietnam War.
Raymond worked for the Vancouver School District from 1973 until retirement in 1999.
After retirement, he loved to spend six months in Thailand and six months in Vancouver. He loved to travel anywhere!
He belonged to the 4th Plain Gang and was a proud American.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Somporn (Pon); son, Michael (daughter-in-law Maria); granddaughter, Emma; brothers, Harlyn and David; sister, Beverly Bolton; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Fred and Eleanor Prouty; and sister, Janice Masser.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 26th at 3:00 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
