March 5, 1954 ~ March 19, 2011

Paula Jean Munson, 57, passed away peacefully with her family at her side in Phoenix, Arizona on March 19, 2011. Paula was born and raised in Vancouver, Washington. She attended St. Joseph Catholic School, McLoughlin Jr. High and Fort Vancouver High School.
Paula is survived by her parents, Eugene Jr. and Frances Munson of Vancouver; daughter, Tamara Jennes and granddaughter, Mia of Renton, WA; daughter, BriAnne Langseth and granddaughter, Kaiya of Vancouver; son, Tyler Haag of Mossy Rock, WA; sisters, Molly Zinda (Danny), Jan Bennett (Roger), Lori Melnick (Rich), and MaryKay Munson-Syverson (Brett), all of Vancouver; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and fiancé, Melvin Lange of Phoenix, Arizona.
Paula was a unique person with many enjoyable traits. She was an amazing artist, a fastidious housekeeper, and was always willing to help anyone in need. She was kind and caring and held a special softness in her heart for animals. Paula had a beautiful smile and could light up a room with it. When she was happy, it was evident to all around her.
Paula's free spirit and zest for life could be exhausting to her and those around her. In her last days, exhaustion caught up with her and she passed from this life with a small sigh as if to say, "I'm tired and need to sleep now".
She will be dearly missed.
The family would like to give special thanks to Mel Lange for taking such loving care of our Paula, as well as the staff at Maricopa Medical Center and Hospice of the Valley.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 6500 Highland Dr., Vancouver, on April 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m., with a Celebration of Life continuing at Marian Hall.
Memorial donations in Paula's name may be made to Central Arizona Shelter Services (CASS), 230 S. 12th Ave., Phoenix, Arizona 85007.
