MERLIN RUSSELL WRIGHT
May 4, 1945 to October 6, 2016

Merlin was born to James Russell and Josephine Wright in Coos Bay, Oregon. When he was seven, the family moved to Cottage Grove, Oregon where he attended local schools and made many lifelong friendships. He moved to Vancouver, Washington in 1964 to attend Clark College.
Merlin became a member of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union, Local 4, and worked 38 years on the waterfront.
He was married to Hedda Norris and they enjoyed more than 45 years together, mainly living in Battle Ground.
Merlin will be remembered as a car guy, owning many, many makes and models, but with a special interest in Mercury's.
Merlin is survived by his wife, Hedda; sisters, Wade Reynolds of Anchorage and Willetta Morgan of North Bend, Oregon. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Merlin, just as he truly adored them.
As Merlin requested, no services will be held.

I will truly miss Merlin. What a nice man. I feel privileged to have known him. He always had a good story to tell me about his younger days and some fun waterfront memories. He was a big part of Longshoremen's Local 4 Federal Credit Union, serving as a Board Member for over 25 years. It did seem like he knew everyone in Clark County, as someone else said. He was well liked and will be deeply missed by ALL who knew him.

Merlin was one of the nicest guys, I can't recall ever seeing him angry. He always had a smile. I worked with him for many years when he was President of the Longshoremen's Local 4 Federal Credit Union board of directors. He was one super guy and will be missed by all who knew him.
