June 15, 1936 ~ October 24, 2017

Martha "Marty" Oase Jensen-Miller passed away October 24, 2017 at the age of 81 after a short battle with cancer. Martha was born and raised in Montana, graduating from Butte High School, class of 1954. She married Scott N. Jensen July 1, 1956. She moved with Scott to Washington state in 1957 where she raised 4 children: Martin Scott Jensen (Shari), Lynne Jeanine Jensen (Neal), Tina Renae Jensen Hart (Chriss), and Tracey Jensen Kerle.
She always worked, having started when she was in high school. She worked in the banking industry for years, followed by time at Vancouver School District and finally Battle Ground School District where she spent 20 years and from which she retired in 1996.
Martha loved to travel. She visited Norway twice, the first time with her native Norwegian father. She visited again later in life with her second husband Joe, and traveled to Amsterdam and London as well. They took several cruises and traveled to many US National Parks, with a trip down Route 66 one of her favorites. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an avid collector and had numerous collections including Barbie Dolls, old TV show themed lunch boxes, Coca-Cola and various types of glassware. She loved the hunt for each piece. She adored all things Elvis and Neil Diamond. One of her last big outings was to a Neil Diamond concert. She was an enthusiastic member of her local Red Hat group and enjoyed all the time she spent with her fellow red hat ladies.
She was preceded in death by husband Scott N. Jensen, father Martin Oase and Mother Vivan (Cox) Oase.
She is survived by her brother, Martin Oase of Colorado; husband, Julius O. "Joe" Miller, whom she married June 3, 1995; all four children; six grandchildren: Brandon Todd Ludahl, Tanner Scott Kerle (Shae), Nichole Jeanine Jensen, Jordan Christina Hart, Christopher Michael Hart and Ellen LaRee Kerle; and four great-grandchildren: Harlow Peyton Kerle, Dallin Scott Kerle, Nola Raylin Kerle and Rylee Elizabeth Hart-Crowe.
Known for her sweet laugh, her kindness and her positive outlook on life, she was the heart of her family and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Martha did not want a formal funeral. She instead wanted a party with all her favorite people, foods and music. We will celebrate her life with a party on some future date. Memorial contributions in her name can be made to any local animal charity.
