MARJORIE MARIE ELLERTSON
September 13, 1924 ~ December 3, 2017

Marjorie Marie Ellertson passed away peacefully in her sleep with her beloved husband, Ken Ellertson, at her side and surrounded by family members on December 3, 2017 at the age of 93 years old. She was born on September 13, 1924 at Emanuel Hospital in Portland, Oregon to Edgar and Selma (Shuholm) Charlston and became the oldest and only sister among five brothers, Don, Jim, Curtis, Stanley and Stewart.
After high school, she attended Clark College, St. Olaf College and became a Registered Nurse.
Marjorie married Marvin Moll in 1947 and had 3 sons, Daniel, David, and Douglas during the term of their marriage. They moved to Worthington, MN in 1958 where she lived until 1974 when she and Marvin moved to Denver, CO and ultimately Seattle, while she continued private nursing.
The love of her life was Ken Ellertson who she married in 2003 at the ripe young age of 79. Their goal was to live together for 5 years, yet their marriage lasted 14 years until her passing. Ken made her so happy. He was her confidant, her best friend, and she loved him dearly. Ironically, their parents were friends when the two were very young children. Both remember those days. They enjoyed traveling, cruises, bible study, and socializing with family and friends. The family has remarked on many occasions the reason for both Ken (90) and Marjorie (93) long lifespan was due to their remarkable happiness together.
Marjorie loved playing the piano and enjoyed the role of church organist while living in Wells, MN. Later, she became a very well-known and respected piano teacher, many of her students ultimately winning the Minnesota State piano championship. Music was a large part of her life hobbies and she even mastered the harp in her later years.
Marjorie enjoyed staying in touch with family members on a regular basis. She was known to reach out virtually every day to an old friend or family member just to catch up and stay in touch. She was a voracious reader, consuming as many books as she could find that would interest her. The Bible was always close to her bedside.
Marjorie was active in many social circles, too numerous to mention. She was always interested in her friends and families lives, and made every effort to visit, call, or write those close to her.
She was preceded by her parents, Edgar and Selma Charlston; husband, Marvin Moll; brothers, Stewart, Don and Curtis.
She is survived by her husband, Ken Ellertson; sons, Daniel (Rosemary) Moll, David (Nancy) Moll and Douglas (Cindi) Moll; 10 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 11th at Trinity Lutheran Church, 309 W. 39th St., Vancouver, WA. Interment will follow at Northwood Park in Ridgefield. Viewing for Marjorie will be 10:00a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Sunday, December 10th at Vancouver Funeral Chapel, 110 E. 12th St., Vancouver, WA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
