June 6, 1926 - March 15, 2011

Margaret Zylstra Davidson went peacefully to be with her Lord on March 15, 2011 in Vancouver, WA, with her family by her side. She was born the 4th of five children in Harlowton, MT to Joseph and Ruth (Strom) Carlson and was adopted at age 4 by Joseph and Ruth Spong of Oakland, CA.
Margaret married Art Zylstra of Lynden, WA in 1945, and together they were Covenant Church missionaries in Quito, Ecuador, Panama City, Panama, and Nome, AK. They enjoyed the adventure of serving God and raising four children until Art's death in 1964.
She moved to Vancouver, WA in 1978, was married to Wes Pettit (1981-87) and Charles Davidson (1988-07), both of LaCenter, WA. She lived contentedly at Clearwater Springs, Vancouver for the past three years.
A gifted musician, she loved playing piano and organ, especially in worship. Bible study was her passion, and she relished teaching Bible to others, continuing to memorize scripture up until the week of her death. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life, and she kept close to all of us, praying for us daily. She taught us by word and example to love Jesus with all our hearts. We will miss her laughter, her kind and joyful spirit, and her steadfastness.
Margaret is survived by her brother, Jim Frederickson; and two sisters, Ruth Benton and Pat Westlind; children, Cathy (Whitehead) Owens, Lennard Zylstra, Jonathan Zylstra, and Sylvia Dittmer; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Private burial was held at Northwood Park Cemetery, Ridgefield, WA.
