MARCUS LEROY POTTS
April 25, 1935 ˜ June 14, 2020
Marcus Leroy Potts, ”Mark”, was born on April 25th, 1935 in Vancouver, WA to Marshall and Bernice Potts.
He went on his own terms as he passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 14th, 2020.
Mark served in the Navy, during which time he became pen pals with his sister’s friend, Jeannette Pollard. She later became his beloved wife of over 50 years. Mark and Jan were sealed for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles Temple in 1963. Families are forever.
He was a millwright at Fort Vancouver Plywood Mill where he worked for over 30 years.
Mark was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Suffering with Parkinson’s disease for over 20 years, Mark persevered as the beloved patriarch of the Potts family. He never complained and he never gave up.
Mark believed in hard work, a legacy he passed on to his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his siblings, Margaret, Phyllis and Steve; his children, Gloria March, Bruce Potts, Kevin Potts, and Lisa Jeter; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren
We are comforted as we know Mark is with our Heavenly Father, his wife Jan, and many loved ones who have passed before. That he no longer endures the disabilities of Parkinson’s disease, and is at peace gives us comfort.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in his honor be made to
parkinsonsresources.org or call 800-426-6806.
