August 25, 1929 ~ August 2, 2018

Lowell "Bud" Erickson was born Aug. 25, 1929 in Minneapolis, MN and passed away Aug. 2, 2018 in Vancouver, WA.
During his school years, Bud excelled in athletics and music. He was a soloist in college and seminary choirs. Bud's athletic endeavors continued throughout his college years: he played on championship teams and participated in a Bowl game.
Bud and Clare (Allen) Erickson were joined in marriage on June 2, 1951. Bud received his B.S. from Gustavus Adolphus College. After graduating from Augustana Seminary, Bud was ordained in 1955. While serving an internship in Seattle, Bud and Clare fell in love with the mountains and natural wonders of the west and decided to pursue options in the western part of the country.
Bud served Lutheran parishes in Ogden, UT, Glendale, CA, Seattle and Tacoma, WA, and held his final position at Zion Lutheran Church in Camas, WA. He served the congregation at Zion for twelve years. Bud retired in 1992 and currently resided in Vancouver.
Bud is survived by his wife, Clare; sister, Fern Bennett; daughter, Miriam (Mark); son, Jim (Lois); son-in-law, Joe Lapidus; and his beloved grandchildren: Zachary and Andrew Lapidus, Justin Erickson and Jessica Kerr. He also had numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held later this fall.
