Linda Jennerjohn Obituary

LINDA JEAN (ETZEL) JENNERJOHN
August 14, 1958 ˜ July 8, 2020

Linda Jean (Etzel) Jennerjohn passed away July 8, 2020 at 61 years of age at her home in Vancouver, WA. Born on Aug. 14, 1958, Linda was adopted by her loving parents, Harley “Curly” and Betty Etzel of Vancouver, WA. She graduated from Fort Vancouver High School in 1976.
In 1975, Linda began working at Southwest Washington Medical Center, later becoming PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.
In 1981, she married her husband, Gary Lee Jennerjohn, and started a family. Linda was always present in her girl’s lives; becoming a Girl Scout and Day Camp leader, keeping score at softball games and always providing support and loving advice when needed.
In 2003, Gary was diagnosed with cancer. Linda loved, cared for, and supported him until he passed in 2010.
Linda enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters, taking them on many unforgettable adventures including trips to Disney parks and annual summer trips to the Pacific coast. Just as she did with her girls, she made sure to celebrate and make each milestone extra special for her granddaughters, including over the top birthdays and holidays. She would never miss a dance recital, school play or choir performance.
After nearly 45 years of service at Southwest and PeaceHealth, she was looking forward to her retirement later this year. Her PeaceHealth friends would joke with her that she went from “the cradle to the payroll” and will always remember her for her dedication, warm smile and her love for her family.
Linda leaves behind her mother, Betty Etzel; brother, David Etzel; daughters, Nicole Lewis and Stacie Jennerjohn; and four granddaughters who she loved dearly. She will always be remembered by her family for her kindness, patience, selfless generosity and endless love.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Gary Jennerjohn; and her father, Curly Etzel.
Her family asks you to hug your children and grandchildren, enjoy a walk on the beach with your family and never miss an opportunity to celebrate with the ones you love. It is in these moments that Linda will forever be missed.
Her family will honor and celebrate her life privately.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Stepping Stones to support grieving children at https://www.peacehealth.org/southwest/for-grieving-children.

I truly enjoyed getting to know Linda during this last year I got to work with her team. She was one of the very few people I keep on my instant messaging contact list at work. She was so patient, kind, and reassuring. I will carry her memories as I grow in my career, and certainly as I raise my little one. I think about her a lot and miss her dearly.

I'm saddened to hear of the passing of Linda and know she will be missed by many. I worked with her at SW for many years. I will always remember her dedication, work ethic, problem-solving skills, kindness to all, stories of Gary, her daughters and granddaughters and so much more. I'm so sorry she won't get to enjoy retirement with her family.

Linda was an incredibly kind soul. She had a calm about her that anytime you spoke with her or was near her, her gentle demeanor would put you at ease. I worked with Linda my entire career at PeaceHealth, over 14 years. In those 14 years I never saw Linda mad or angry with her customers or peers. Even when times got tough, she was cool headed and easy to be around.

Linda worked tirelessly and never complained. Every morning I would pass by Linda and there she was at her desk with a smile on her face always greeting me. On days she brought in snacks she would always offer them up. And on most days as Ieft, there she was still at her desk working tirelessly with a smile on her face. “Have a good night Eric”. She put in a long 44 years at PeaceHealth and always did it with integrity and extreme professionalism.

Linda was incredibly thoughtful. 10 years ago we had a house fire and we lost everything. I’ll never forgot what she did for our family. She provided my kids new bikes and clothes to help ease their broken souls. She would always offer help and consistently wanted to do more. Such a wonderful person!

I will miss my friend. God bless you and your family.

I’m so sorry to hear the loss of Linda Jennerjohn. Linda I worked together at SWMC (PHSW) for many years until I retired in 2014. She would often visit me in my office or do lunch in the cafeteria and would share stories about family, children and life. Linda was very dedicated to her family and to her work. To the Etzel and Jennerjohn families, please know that I’m thinking of you during this difficult time. I know your pain as I lost my beloved wife two years ago in the month of July. Blessings and peace to each of you. Know that my thoughts are with you

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

As I haven't seen her since shortly after high school, I will always remember her as sweet and soft spoken.
