Lewis Haldeman, 94, of Vancouver, WA passed away February 24, 2015. He was born July 27, 1920 in Vancouver to Selma and Lewis Haldeman.
Lewis graduated from Vancouver High school and attended Washington State University in Pullman. He married the love of his life, Elsie Nelson Haldeman of Hockinson on December 19, 1941. He served in the Navy during WWII supervising aircraft repairs and continued with a career at Alcoa.
Lewis loved playing the clarinet and saxophone. He also enjoyed writing poetry, swimming in the ocean, jogging, camping, taking road trips, and in his youth playing many sports. He loved his family including all of his nieces and nephews.
For many years he attended St Paul Lutheran Church.
Lewis is survived by daughters Joanne (Walton) Frederick and Jill (Lanny) Cawley. He has three grandsons, Jay (Jodi) Frederick, Michael (Miho) Frederick and Alexander (special friend Jolene Port) Cawley. He has four great grand- children. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Elsie; and brother, William.
Inurnment will be Friday, March 6, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. in Park Hill Cemetery, 5915 E Mill Plain Blvd., Vancouver, followed by a memorial service at 4:00 p.m., at the Vancouver Funeral Chapel, 110 E. 12 St. Vancouver
