May 20, 1940 ~ March 10, 2011

LeRoy "Roy" Koop of Vancouver, WA, went home to Jesus peacefully on Thurs., March 10, 2011 at home with his family present. Roy lost his long fought battle with brain cancer after the wonderful Hospice Group had kept him as comfortable as possible for several weeks. He was born in Bakersfield, CA on May 20, 1940 to Peter and Sally Koop. Roy went to Heaven minutes after eating an ice cream bar, what could be better than that?
Roy loved fishing, hunting, water skiing, (when he was younger) boating, RVing with his friends in his RV Club (RUFF-N-IT), and woodworking with his best friend, Brian Harte.
Roy had a great sense of humor and
loved to work more than play. He was always there
for his family and friends when they needed help.
Roy is survived by his wife, Jeanette; sons, Mike and Tom of Salem, OR; step-sons, Greg Theer of Puyallup, WA, Casey Theer of Vancouver; mother-in-law, Betty Huss of Vancouver; sisters, Betty Dalke of Auburn, WA and Dorothy Phillips of Dallas, OR.
A memorial service will be held at Living Hope Church, 10702 NE 117th Ave., Vancouver, WA 98662, 1:00 p.m., Sat., March 19, 2011.
