"LaVerne will be most remembered for her loving, sociable ways. She was able to make friends with just about anybody.
She loved people and they loved her back.
She will be sorely missed but never forgotten."

LaVerne Charlotte (Cox) White passed away on Feb. 1, 2011 in Battle Ground, WA. She was born on Jan. 18, 1914 in Minneapolis, MN to David and Emma Hunt. She was raised in the Minneapolis area, and graduated from high school there.
After high school, LaVerne held a few small jobs before marrying J. Lloyd White. The couple had three children, DuWayne, David, and Darlyne. LaVerne worked for Lipman and Wolfe, Meier and Frank, and ultimately in the surgical supply department at Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland, OR, putting together surgical kits for specific surgeries. She retired in 1976.
After retirement LaVerne was able to dedicate more of her time to her hobbies, which included, but were not limited to, gardening, playing the piano and organ, and traveling. She especially enjoyed trips to Hawaii, Wisconsin, and Hermiston. She also volunteered a great deal of her time to associations such as the Rebecca Lodge, Finns, and SNAP. She was also a member of Landmark Christian Assembly in Battle Ground, WA for over 12 years.
LaVerne is survived by her children, DuWayne White of Hermiston, OR and Darlyne Bump of Vancouver, WA; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and five great-great-grandchildren.
