Lauretta Peterson Herman, age 98, former Vancouver, WA resident, died on Jan. 8, 2011 in St. Paul, MN. She was born Sept. 12, 1912 in Goldendale, WA and moved to Vancouver, WA in 1918 where she graduated from Vancouver High School in 1930.
Lauretta married Earl Herman in 1934 and they lived most of their lives in Vancouver, except from 1960-75, when they lived in Seattle, WA. She graduated from the University of Washington in 1966. Earl died in 1999 and Lauretta moved to Minnesota in 2000.
She was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Vancouver.
Lauretta is survived by her son, Robert Herman (Carolyn) of St. Paul, MN; daughter, Janice Baker (Frank) of Baltimore, MD; granddaughters, Tory Herman of Eugene, OR, Molly Zaidi of Montclair, NJ, and Eliza Herman of St. Paul, MN; brothers, Howard Peterson of Lacey, WA, Reuben Peterson of Allyn, WA, and Lawrence Peterson of San Luis Obispo, CA; sister, Joanne Vahsholtz of Vancouver, WA; and seventeen nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl M. Herman; brother, Homer Peterson; and sister, Elizabeth McKay.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Vancouver.
