Laura Read-Saunders Obituary

LAURA RUTH (PARVIN) READ-SAUNDERS
August 16, 1962 ~ August 8, 2018

On Wednesday, August 8, 2018, Laura was taken from us unexpectedly at the age of 55. She was born August 16, 1962 to her parents Claud and Pauline Parvin of Camas, Washington. Laura graduated from Camas High School in 1981 as the Senior Class President.
She lived her adult life as a loving and caring Wife, Mother, Sister and BEST friend to many.
Laura is survived by her husband, Dennis; her children, Justin, Ryan, Nick (wife, Brittany) Mackenzie, Derek; her beloved grandchildren, Connor, Tristan and Ethan, and her siblings.
Laura dedicated herself to serving others. She had an infectious smile, contagious laugh and enormous heart. She filled her home with family, friends and treasures she collected throughout her life. She found happiness in her garden at home, sunshine, bodies of water as well as entertaining for any occasion. Laura was a proud American that took pride in her country.
Her kindness touched so many, and everytime a candle burns she will be the light we remember.
May God rest her beautiful soul. And take care of her the way she always took care of us. A gathering in memory of Laura is TBD.

Not sure what to say?

Still thinking of you often. My heart hurts knowing you're not here. Today would've been your "60th" birthday. I wish you were here to celebrate. I smile thinking back on the ones we did celebrate. We had a lot of fun. A lot of good memories. You brought a lot of joy in to my life as well as many others. You will never be forgotten. Happy Birthday, Cousin. I love you.

Thinking of you on this day that would have been your 60th, and all the ways in which we discussed celebrating it.

I was sorry to miss the CAMEO'S gathering celebrating you, but you are always in my thoughts. I miss you everyday. My memory is of the donation drives you would have at those larger "Candle Parties", and so each year "In Honor of my Friend" a donation is made to someone or something. I don't think you'd mind that.

I cant believe its already been 2 years. Even though we grew apart as we got older, you will always be one of my favorite cousins. I have so many happy memories of you. I am so thankful for the time I did get to spend with you. I just wish we had more time. I wouldve loved for us to be a family again. I missed you already before this day. I missed having my cousin. Someday we'll meet again. And until then, i have memories of you to hold on to until that day. I LOVE YOU LAURA. I wish I had the chance to tell you.

I just learned of Laura's death. I was one of her teachers at Camas High School. In the 40+ years I was a teacher, I had thousands of students in my classroom. Laura has always been and will always be one of my favorites. My heart is sad with this news. My heart goes out to her family. You are so blessed to have Laura in your family. I will never forget this beautiful and amazing woman.

Missing you Laura. Laura my neighbor. Met her 2012. My husband passed away at home in April 2012. Laura was making sure I was ok. She would call me or come over and say checking on you Rose.

Laura was a people person who knew how to put on a garage sale. I met her at one of many of them and little did I know this delightful lady would become a good friend. She had a huge life-like white tiger head for sale. I needed it like I needed a sore toe. Because of the cost I did not purchase it the first time I stopped. Lauras sale was on my way home and I stopped again to admire the tiger. She gave me a deal that I felt was a confirmation that I needed it to go with the other eclectic items in my home. I was over the moon to own it. Before leaving with my prize she took me inside her home to show me how she had used other animals to decorate with. Her home had a designers touch and that was another one of her many talents. I have my beautiful tiger hung in a prominent location and it will always remind me of Laura and our first meeting.

Not tell later did I find out she also cleaned houses. She was not just a house cleaner she knew her business and often time she and her sister Julie were a Team and they were thorough and fast. During these cleaning times I saw the person Laura was. We talked a lot while she was cleaning and that is when I saw a lady who had sincere kindness, a gentle spirit and shared it, unknowingly, to everyone she met. She delighted in having large get together's at her home and decorated the outside of her home for almost every holiday.

Laura spoke of her love for her family and extended family. Her boys and grandchildren were her pride and joy. Julie, her sister, were like two peas in a pod and where one went the other went. She did not always live her dream of having a fairy tale life but she ALWAYS loved her family and her boyfriend, Dennis.

Not quite a year ago Dennis surprised Laura with a proposal of marriage after 8 years together. Not only was Laura surprised but I believe a lot of other people. They were married in September of 2017. I would give anything to say they lived happily ever after. Her time on earth was cut short. However, she will live in the heart of many for how she touched their lives, and that is a beautiful legacy to have shared.

Laura . I will miss you!

Even though we weren't as close as we once were, I still am grateful to have had you in my life. I'm sad I never got the chance to tell you what an honor it was to have you as my cousin. You touched so many lives and left so many great memories. At least I have those to hopefully bring peace to this tragic time. I love you Laura. RIP

I still remember the first time I meet her and how warming and funny she was. We laughed because at Christmas time her house looked liked the Griswals! She decorated for every holiday which always reminded of my mom. I loved her love for life and giving to others. Always put everyone first. Mostly I loved her for her! I will miss her so much.

My sweet Aunt Laura. You were truly an amazing lady. You taught me so many things growing up from how to frost cookies to how to use nose strips. You have been such a positive influence and beautiful role model to me. I can't believe you're actually gone. I love you Aunt Laura ❤

Words can not describe my heartache when I read the passing of this sweet lady. Laura came into my life about 18 years ago and now EVERY time I see anything related to Partylite I will think of her. Her pure smile, love for others and how much she loved her family and friends. There will be no way to replace this amazing woman. Much love and prayers to her family.
