LARRY LEE GENTRY
September 5, 1936 ˜ November 11, 2018
Larry Lee Gentry, 82, of Portland, OR, passed away on Nov. 11, 2018 from complications of Multiple System Atrophy. He was born in Portland on Sept. 5, 1936 and graduated from Oregon City High School.
Larry received a BS degree in Engineering from Oregon State University and an MS degree in Engineering from San Jose State University.
He served four years as an officer in the U.S. Navy as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Diver.
Following his military service, Larry worked for the Advanced Marine Systems of Lockheed Missiles and Space Corporation in Sunnyvale, CA. After 29 years with Lockheed, Larry retired in 1996 and moved back to the Pacific Northwest with his wife, Sally.
Larry is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sally (Boyd) Gentry; sons, Brad (Susan) and Scott (Melissa); and granddaughters, Erin (David Ohm), Alyssa (Wylie Nowack) and Megan Gentry.
A public viewing will be held on Mon., Nov. 26th from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Mt. Scott Funeral Home, 4205 SE 59th Ave., Portland, OR 97206. Interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery. A memorial service and reception for Larry’s many friends and relatives will be held on Tues., Nov. 27th at 2:00 p.m., at Crossroads Church, 2505 NE 102nd Ave., Portland, OR 97220.
