KRISTIE TAPANAINEN "TAPPY"
February 9, 1960 ~ April 20, 2011
Kristie Tapanainen, age 51, of Vancouver, WA, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2011 from complications due to pneumonia.
She was a very special person who was involved in many different events for Special Olympics, loved to travel to Disneyland, swam with the dolphins at Sea World and cruised the Alaska coastline.
Kristie was a dedicated employee at Vantech, and more recently volunteered at Discovery Health and Rehab.
She was a loving and compassionate individual
who will truly be missed by many,
as she makes her final flight on her "Airplane to God".
Kristie is survived by her mother, Evelyn Tapanainen; sister, Kathy Snyder; niece, Holli Snyder and husband, Franklin and their children, Tristan and Soren; nephew, Gregg Snyder and his children, Christan and Gracie; and her brother, Jon Tapanainen, his wife, Joanie, and son, Jay.
Special endearment and thanks to Kristie's dedicated staff and caregivers at Relationship/Care Northwest, The Arc of SW Washington, the entire doctor/nursing staff at SW WA Medical Center, and the compassion of ALL the staff at the Ray Hickey Hospice House.
After a private burial service, a public invitation to ALL for a Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sat., May 21st at 4505 Idaho Street, Vancouver, WA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kristie's honor to Ray Hickey Hospice House, 2112 East Mill Plain Blvd., Vancouver, WA 98661.
