KIYONO (KAY) HAYDEN
March 19, 1930 ˜ February 5, 2021

In loving memory of our mother, Kiyono (Kay) Hayden who passed away Feb. 5, 2021, at the age of 90. Kiyono was a resident of Vancouver, WA, for 53 years and passed peacefully at Golden Age Living Family Home of natural causes.
Our mom was born March 19, 1930, in Hunju-shi, Japan. She was one of eight children. Kiyono married Wilford Clay Hayden, April 13, 1953, in Japan while he was serving in the U.S. Army.
Our mom was very artistically talented and a renowned woodcarver. She carved beautiful eagles, owls, geese, ducks, chickadees and hummingbirds.
Her best gift was that of being a mom, wife and grandma. She was the true definition of one who took care of family and friends before herself. Mom was a fabulous cook and nobody left her house hungry.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Turukichi and Asa Ishikawa; four brothers and two sisters. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Will, and great-grandsons, Austin Clay Buck and Blake Wesley Hayden.
Mom is survived by her three children, Carolyn (Carl) Finch, Russell (Erin) Hayden and Wesley (LaDonna) Hayden, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside service is Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 1101 NE 112th Ave., Vancouver 98684. Celebrant Doug McCleary will be the officiant. Pallbearers are Russ Hayden, Wes Hayden, JT Buck, Clay Hayden, Christian Hayden. Honorary Pallbearer is Carl Finch.
Mom, grandma, great-grandma, you are loved and will be deeply missed.

I remember sitting at my grandma's cutting board listening to auntie Kay talk. I loved the melody of her voice. Such fun! I loved visiting and looking at all of the woodcarvings and watching her cook in the kitchen. What a wonderful lady!❤ Prayers and love to her family. I hold you in my heart! Angie
