KENNETH JENSEN
January 13, 1935 ˜ September 15, 2021
Kenneth Jensen passed away peacefully Sept. 15, 2021, at the age of 86. He was born Jan. 13, 1935, in Elsinore, UT, to Clarence and Laree Jensen. He was drafted into the army in 1957 and stationed in Frankfurt, Germany until honorably discharged in 1959. Ken married the love of his life Carol Watkins of Butte, MT, in June of 1959 and soon after moved from Butte, to Vancouver, WA.
Ken was a devoted husband who loved the outdoors. He and Carol purchased acreage and an old farmhouse in the early 60’s in Battle Ground where he raised horses and cows. The projects were endless, but Ken enjoyed nothing more than tinkering around his property. Remolding the farmhouse over the years, building three barns and a home on the hill with his brothers was pure enjoyment for him. Ken and Carol lived in the home they built and loved for 48 years. He loved to hunt, fish, camp and golf which he took up after retiring. He made many hunting trips to Canada, Washington, Montana, and Utah and spent weeks fishing for salmon on the Columbia River. He loved everything outdoors but spending time with his family, friends and brothers camping at the beach or in the woods of the surrounding mountains may have been his greatest pleasure.
After retiring from Lucky Lager, he and Carol traveled the country in their motor home eventually visiting all fifty states. They worked several summers in Yellowstone Park which allowed them to hike countless trails photographing its beauty and wildlife while there. He and Carol joined the Buzzing Bees square dancing club which provided many years of wonderful memories traveling around dancing and camping with the group.
Ken had a rough tough exterior earning him the nickname “Grumpy” by friends and family, but deep down he was the most sentimental person and had a tender heart for those he loved. He said often that he had led a wonderful life, he cherished his amazing wife of 61 years, his children, and his grandkids. He will be missed beyond measure.
Ken is survived by his brother, Terry; his son, Scott; daughter-in-law, Teresa; his daughter, Shelley; son-in-law, Darren Wilson; his four grandchildren, Jennifer, Brittany, Ryan and Logan; and great-grandchild, Cole.

I had the privilege of becoming friends with Ken & Carol by meeting them at Glenwood Community Church. I also enjoyed coffee time in their home occasionally. Condolences to their family. (Still have fertilizer they brought over for my flowers - from their live stock, believe it or not.) How about Ken's art work as one drives in to their home? QUITE SOMETHING, I think.
