"Judy was a beautiful, loving wife and mother."

Judy A. Updike, 78, of Vancouver, WA, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on Thurs., Aug. 24, 2017. She was born in Vancouver, WA on March 12, 1939 to Katherine and Gale Curtis. She attended high school at the old "Vancouver High School" on the north end of downtown Vancouver.
On July 15, 1955, Judy married the love of her life, Douglas Edgar Updike, and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in July of 2015, just before his death on July 31, 2015. Together they raised five children and ran the very successful "Updike Berry Farm", taking over the farm from Doug's father in 1975.
Judy (Mom, Bana, Grandma, Grams) was a beautiful lady who made everyone feel welcome in her home. She loved playing poker, crossword puzzles, gardening, cooking, Thomas Kinkade puzzles, crocheting, and many other various crafts. Above all, what she truly loved most, was the time she spent with her loving family, her neighbors Maite and Brian, and during her last couple of months, her caregiver, Tricha.
~ We all miss her more than any words can ever say. ~
Judy is survived by her five children, Steve, Mike, Cheryl, Debbie, and Sue; 14 grandchildren, Tony, Crystal, Jennie, Brad, Stacy, Ashly, Kyle, Kelly, Carly, Julie, Kristen, Jeffrey, Brian and Brooke; and a bundle of 18 great-grandchildren.
She is now in heaven with Doug - and their adventures continue.
Judy requested no service, but the family will get together at her home for a Celebration of Life.
