JOHN W. TIDLAND

John Tidland, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away October 1, 2018. He was born in Torrance, CA and grew up in El Monte, CA.
John was the owner of Tidland Hydraulics, Inc. in Vancouver, WA.
A mechanical design engineer, he was an avid inventor, builder of machinery, craftsman of anything in metal and wood. He loved to fish, fly model airplanes, and work on his model two-masted sailing ships.
John is survived by his wife, Pat; daughters, Laurie (Fred) Dau, Joanne (Vinnie) Costello and Jacqueline (Corey) Gault; grandchildren, Jeffrey Guymon, Jenilyn Tidland, Jacob Gault, Kimberly Costello, David Costello; great-granddaughter, Bella Guymon; sister, Marilyn Straus; brother, Glenn Tidland; and his sisters-in-law, Bobbie Tidland, Kathy Tidland and Diana Cotter.
His brother, Jim Tidland and grandson, Brian Guymon recently preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Nov. 17, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church, 4300 Main Street, Vancouver, WA. Anyone who knew John or knew of him, come and celebrate the life of this extraordinary man.

So very sorry to hear this sad news. John was always a very nice and gentle man. You were such a very nice couple and I remember your enjoying our reunions so much. Many memories and many smiles.
