April 17, 1941 ~ August 13, 2015

Born in Vancouver, WA to Ernest and Siri Lofgren, John Lofgren was a lifelong resident of Southwest Washington. He was taken all too suddenly from us on Aug. 13, 2015. John graduated from Fort Vancouver High School and Clark College, where he met the love of his life and future bride, Julie Johnson.
He was an accountant by training and worked for many years as an accountant/office manager for S.D. Spencer & Son and Zimmerly Rock Products. His attention to detail and organizational skills made him a natural asset for these companies.
John's true passion was hunting and he enjoyed many successful hunts in the wild lands of the Western U.S. and Canada. An outdoorsman in every sense of the word, he was as happy cutting wood as he was hiking the local mountains. John watched and participated in many sports, however, basketball was his real love as a player and coach. He also enjoyed card and dice games, was a great host, and was very often the life of the party. He loved animals, including a couple of dogs named Sam and a cat known as Buck.
John was an energetic man that was always there when you needed him, and he devoted many hours
to helping family members and friends
(of which he had many) in any way that he could.
John is survived by his wife of 52 years, Julie; sister, Gail Jwayad; son, Eric (Kendra) Lofgren; daughter, Amy (Ronnie) Mason; grandchildren, Mallori (Adam), Haylee, Madelyn, and Jonathan; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service and reception will be held at 10 a.m. on Sat., Aug. 29, 2015 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Columbia River Mental Health Services, the , or the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
