John was born on Bachelor’s Island and was proud to have lived all of his life in Ridgefield. He graduated from Ridgefield High School in 1933. He and his wife Eunice were married for 75 years. He is survived by 3 daughters; Geraldine (Tom VanGelder), Judith (Frank Lambert). and Mary (Bill Matney). There are 7 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
John was employed in the lumber industry and spent WWll years working at the Vancouver Shipyards. He was an excellent athlete, fisherman, bowler, and golfer. He played semi-pro baseball until he was 40 years old. He served as mayor of Ridgefield and was famous for his excellent memory and complete knowledge of the Ridgefield area.
There will be no funeral. Burial arrangements with Vancouver Funeral Chapel.
