November 16, 1921 ˜ July 7, 2020

Jean Clarkson Wilkie was born in Baillieston, Scotland on November 16, 1921. She was the 6th of 9 children born to Joseph and Jeanne Clarkson.
Jean loved to dance and would go down to the village as often as she could sneak away to go to the dances with her friends. There she met the love of her life, Jimmy Wilkie. They were married on December 18, 1942 and emigrated to America in 1952. They settled in Renton, WA and had two children, Barbara and Alan. They moved to Buckley, WA in 1993 to be next to their daughter, son-in-law and grandkids. Again, they followed Barbara and Bill down to Vancouver, WA in 2002 and settled in Fairway Village. They loved their new community and Jean loved working in her garden. She loved all kinds of flowers and her fabulous blueberries.
Family meant everything to her and Jimmy. She was blessed to be with Jimmy until 2011. They went for daily walks and enjoyed gatherings with family and friends. Jean was able to stay in her home until she turned 97. She had awesome neighbors that checked up on her and her daughter, son-in-law and grandkids were very close by. She moved to VanMall Retirement Community in July of 2019 and lived independently until April of 2020.
We would like to thank the hospice nurses and the fabulous CNA’s at Van Mall for all their loving hearts and care.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Barbara and son-in-law, Bill Collins; son, Alan and daughter-in-law, Rachel Wilkie; granddaughter, Jeannie and her husband, Seth Garon; great-grandsons, Elijah and Jacob Garon; grandson, Derek Collins; and sister-in-law, Margaret Wilkie.
There will be a service at a later date due to the current circumstances related to the Covid virus.

Jean was a spunky, funny and sweet lady. We still remember one morning after it snowed in the night and she, in her early 90's, was out shoveling her driveway. The neighbors miss her.
