JANIE ANDERSON POLEN
July 7, 1944 ˜ February 26, 2021

Our loving mother Janie M. (Anderson) Polen was called home to be with our Lord Feb. 26, 2021. Janie was born to Sam & Louise Anderson July 7, 1944 in Carroll, Iowa.
Janie lived her first part of her childhood in Iowa until her family packed up an old school bus and moved to Vancouver, WA, in 1952. She graduated from Hudson’s Bay high school in 1962 while her future husband, Larry E. Polen graduated from Fort Vancouver high school the same year. They married on Nov. 23, 1962, with friend Tajo Aoeke and Janie’s sister Joyce Anderson Lickar as Witnesses. Larry and Janie moved several times before settling down in the Eugene/Springfield area where they raised their four children.
Over the years they enjoyed traveling the world and any event that one of their grandchildren were involved. We will always miss the never-ending songs Janie would sing and the light she brought into our lives. Janie was preceded in death by Larry Polen. She is survived by her four siblings, Jerry (Sharon) Anderson, Judy (Ron) Draper, Joyce Lickar, and Jack (Sue) Anderson; her four children, Scott (Lara) Polen, Susie (Don) Churnside, Mary Jane Wilson, Wendy Polen; 12 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Celebration of life will be on Friday, March 12, 2021, at Saint Alice Church at Noon. Located at 1520 E Street Springfield, OR 97477.
Although COVID restrictions will be followed there is plenty of room for you to join the celebration of life.

My condolences and prayers reach out to each of you at this difficult time. Both your Mom and Dad were tremendous supporters of Marist High School and its ideals. It was my pleasure in knowing both your parents. Again my prayers for each and every one. Br. Dan Grogan - Marist High School
