Jims, our 'little' brother, beloved, and dearly missed. We so were looking forward to time when we could share and reminisce on the paths we've traveled apart from each other. Now, your legacy, the folks that knew and respected your calm wisdom, will share in our knowledge, our experience as your dear friends, family, sports competitors and acquaintances, and attempt to find the measure of this dear person who made his quiet way among us. How is that we still miss you as much as we did when you first were so ill? There's comfort in knowing that we'll meet again. Until then we reminisce and smile when we see a photo that captures the crinkly essence of your good humor. Dear one.

When we were kids, we always wanted Jim to be on our team, whether in games, sports and other athletic competitions. His unique perspective might be tempered with a stubborn position he took, but he always honored and respected our parents, and inspired others to look for the decency in humanity. I wish he were here. When it's my turn to go, I only hope I can recall how trusting and true he was in an honorable death.

You Jim, will be eternally in our hearts and in our memories. You will always be remembered as a great Dad to our Granddaughter Caitlyn. Your gentle ways and kind smile will never be forgotten. Hope you find your Alaska in Heaven that will compare with your homeland here. Save us a seat at your cabin, near the lake, on your majestic mountain! Bless you always. May peace be with you forever.

As days and weeks pass, and we return to a semblance of life's routine, may family and friends continue to feel comforted by the love and support of others recalling the quiet character we miss, knowing Jim is still with us in some precious way.
