JAMES FREDERICK VOELZER
Vancouver, WA, resident James F. Voelzer, age 80, died Jan. 3, 2021. He is the son of Meryl W. Voelzer and Lucille G. Voelzer, both deceased.
Jim obtained his wildlife degree from Utah State University, went through ROTC and flight school in the Army. He was a test pilot in California and went to Vietnam in 1965. He was honorably discharge as first lieutenant in 1966.
Jim started his career as pilot-biologist working for the Fish and Wildlife Service. He retired in January 2006 as section chief (later brand chief) of Waterfowl Population Surveys, FWS.
Jim is survived by his wife, Magaly M. Ojeda C; sister, Joanne B. (Gary) Ricker; and their extended family.
Jim will be cremated in Vancouver. There will be no public service at his request. An obituary-memory wall can be found at
