James D. Hogan, 87, passed away on May 12, 2011 in Vancouver, WA. He was born in Muscatine, IA to James M. and Lydia (Smith) Hogan on June 2, 1923.
James served as an MP in World War II.
He worked for 30 years on the SP&S and on the Burlington Northern Rail Road as a supervisor.
James was a lifetime member of the Elks and he enjoyed playing on a city softball team, singing in a barbershop quartet and working in his cabinet shop at home for 30 years.
James is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joyce; sons, Jim and Jerry (wife Renee); and grandson, Ryan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Emma and Lucille; and brothers, Bob, Ralph and Donald.
A memorial service will be held on Thurs., May 19, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
Memorial donations may be sent to the Ray Hickey Hospice House.
