JACK E. SLINGERLAND
March 22, 1940 ~ May 1, 2015

After prolonged illness, Jack died peacefully in his home, surrounded by love. Jack is survived by Penny, his wife of 47 years; their two sons, Wade (Yvette), Ian (Kerri); and three grandsons. All the boys inherited Jack's unique sense of humor and love of books.
Jack's professional career was as a software engineer. He loved computers and took programming classes on-line until last year. Jack was a religious seeker for most of his life, finding his home in Unitarian Universalism, but deeply exploring Sufism, Dances of Universal Peace and religions of India. He loved sharing his observations and musings.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 30, at 2p.m. at the UU Church of Vancouver, 4505 E 18th St., Vancouver. Friends are asked to stay for mingling and sharing of stories. Jack's request was for joy and singing!
Donations in Jack's memory can be made to the Leadership Development Fund at the UU Church of Vancouver, PO Box 1621, Vancouver, WA 98661. Most importantly, to honor Jack's memory, we ask that you live a full life with an open heart and an open mind.

Jack was indeed a most unique individual. I was honored to be his friend, colleague in UU-PNWD Leadership, and at times a co-conspirator. Rest in Peace and Love
