Harry was the son of Harry and Mildred Friberg and he grew up in Vancouver, WA. He served in the Washington National Guard from 1955 until he entered the Army in 1959 where he served in the 101st (Airborne) until he transitioned to Special Forces in 1963. Harry had multiple tours in Vietnam and Korea and retired as a Master Sergeant, returning to Vancouver in 1978. After retirement, Harry served as a Clark County Sheriff's Deputy until his final retirement in 1997. In retirement, Harry enjoyed farming, travel, and boating on the Columbia River. Harry was preceded by his parents and wife, Daisy. He is survived by his children, Harry Friberg and Barbara Braskett and their spouses and his six grandchildren; his sister, Judy Teitzel; his brothers, James and Phillip Friberg; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a reception in honor of Harry's memory at the Vancouver Veterans of Foreign Wars on Tuesday, 23 June 2015 at 6p.m. Harry will be interred at the Willamette National Cemetery on Wednesday, 24 June 2015 at 3p.m.
