July 8, 1935 ˜ June 23, 2020

Harry Dwane McEllrath, 84, of Vancouver, WA, passed away peacefully at home with his daughter by his side on June 23, 2020. He was born in Rockford, IL to Dewey and Elva McEllrath on July 8, 1935. He graduated from Evergreen High School in 1953.
Harry met the love of his life, Nancy Neureiter, and they wed in 1957.
He joined the Army in May of 1958 until May of 1960.
Harry worked at Northwestern Drug in Portland, OR until he left to work for the Teamsters. He worked there as a Union Representative for many years until he took an early retirement due to suffering a brain aneurysm in which he fully recovered.
Harry and Nancy enjoyed traveling together, gardening, and being with family and friends. Harry was a devoted husband, caring for Nancy after she suffered a stroke up until the day she passed. He was the ultimate father, brother, Papa and friend and will be truly missed.
Harry is survived by his daughter, Gayle Pearrow (Kenny); grandchildren, Katelin McEllrath and Jake Pearrow; and Shelley McEllrath, who remained a devoted daughter-in-law; as well as countless other family and friends.
Harry was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy McEllrath and son, Brian McEllrath, who both passed away in 2019 and left a huge hole in our lives.

Harry was a kind and sweet man. He and Nancy were a great example of love and caring for each other. We should all learn from that. Our condolences go out to the family and those that loved Harry. He will be missed. Carol and Mike Johnson

Harry and Nancy used to be our neighbors - and we loved having them next door! What most impressed me about Harry was his great love for Nancy and the gentle care he took of her the last years of her life. It was an honor to know them. We hope to follow their example as we grow old - to walk with humor and great love!

We were so sorry to hear of Harry's passing. He and Nancy were dear friends. The two Harry's were also co-workers who enjoyed their time together. We will miss his inquiring mind and smiling face.

In addition to being a great family, Harry and Nancy were great neighbors, too, setting a good example for everyone of how to be conscientious and look out for each other, while providing the assurance of having someone like that right next door. They were great people, and are missed by us and our boys. - Gene, Carol, Matthew, Sean & Andy Lambird

I am in shock, hearing of your passing, Harry. And so soon after Nancy. I will always cherish the friendship John and I had with you both, and our dinners, and our travels with the Teamsters, as well as such friendship and caring you showed to me after John's passing. I feel such a hole in my own heart right now. My condolences go out to Gayle and the family. It has been a very difficult past few years and I am so sorry. Harry and Nancy were a couple to admire and I loved them dearly. I hold onto the notion that we will all meet again. ~Jan Woodman
