Garland K. Kistner of Vancouver, WA, passed away on March 9, 2011. He was born in Morrill, KS to Raymond and Claire May Kistner and lived in Vancouver most of his life.
Garland served in the Merchant Marines.
He worked in retail and retired from Sears after 40 years of service.
He had a nursery for many years. Garland loved growing flowers and vegetables and cooking. He enjoyed sports, his favorite was baseball.
Garland is survived by his daughter, Suzan (Kistner) Brice of Battle Ground, WA; granddaughters, Holly Brice of Battle Ground and Chelsea Brice of Seattle; cousin, Roger Gilmore of Otis, OR; his buddy, Mike Hanson; and his two cats.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Kistner; dad, Joe Dennis; father, Raymond Kistner; mother, Claire Dennis; and grandson, Beau Brice.
A memorial service will be held on Thurs., March 17, 2011 at 12:30 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the "Beau Brice Fund", Suicide Awareness Program with the Battle Ground School District;1st Independent Bank in Battle Ground.
