Frank S. Trocino, 82, passed away on April 8, 2011 in Vancouver, WA. He was born in Oelwein, IA on Aug. 26, 1928 to Angelo and Carmela Trocino. He was a brother to Joseph Trocino of Woodland Hills, CA, Betty Steffen of Kansas City, MO and the late Nat Trocino of Mount Dora, FL.
He received a degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Iowa.
Frank served in the U. S. Army and was on a research assignment in Boston, where he met and married Merilyn Budlong, his wife of 56 years.
Frank's engineering career was a distinguished one, earning him national recognition for an innovative process in the wood products industry. His dedication and work ethic were appreciated by everyone who worked with him.
Frank enjoyed sailing in the San Juan Islands and racing at the Eugene Yacht Club where he was a member for many years and a former Commodore.
Frank leaves a daughter, Dana Trocino of Vancouver; sons, Thomas Trocino of Marysville, WA, Frank M. Trocino of Pasadena, CA, and Richard Trocino of Austin, TX; six grandchildren, Anne Barron and James Barron of Vancouver, Francesca Trocino Schwarz of Everett, WA, Roxanne Trocino of Marysville, WA, Andrea Trocino and Emma Trocino of Austin, TX; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held April 23, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 1101 NE 112th Ave., Vancouver, WA.
