Frances "Fran" May Goin, 88, passed away in Spokane, WA on August 24, 2018. She was born in Albany, Oregon to Herbert and Ida Schmidt. She graduated from Albany High School in 1948. While in high school she was kept busy playing the clarinet in the school band, serving as the student body treasurer and was a member of "17", Booster Club, A.A.A. and FHA clubs. Fran was selected to the royalty court culminating as the queen her senior year. She also was active in Rainbow serving as a Worthy Advisor.
During her early married life Fran was active in the Morning Star Grange in Albany and was active in Jaycee-Ettes as chariman of Christmas toys. Once she became a mother to four small children her focus was on them spending lots of time volunteering for school activities.
Her career over the years involved banking. Right after high school she became a bank teller in Albany and later retired in Vancouver after 21 years as a teller and working in new accounts and loans.
Fran enjoyed many hobbies such as sewing, crafting, painting, working in her yard, camping, and spending time with her family.
After retirement she and her husband "Dart" RV'd extensively throughout the United States.
Survivors include daughters, Carrie (Scott) Rider and Joni (Dan) George; son, Kim Goin; six grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dart; their son, Kip; her parents and five siblings.
A memorial service (casual attire) for Fran will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 4 p.m. at the Quarry Senior Living, 415 S.E. 177th Ave., Vancouver, WA with cake and coffee to follow.
